Sister Mary Aloyse Mayer, age 88, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Thursday, October 6, 1994, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 10, 1994, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem, with burial in Holy Family Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Margaret Mayer was born April 15, 1906, in Mankoto, Minn., daughter of the late Louis and Regina Lambert Mayer. She entered the convent in 1921 and professed her vows in 1924. Sister Mary Aloyse Mayer earned a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Masters of Music degree from the Chicago Conservatory, Chicago, Ill. She served as a music teacher at St. Francis de Sales, Manistique, St. Anne, Escanaba, St. Ambrose, Ironwood, Mich., St. Willibrord, Chicago, Ill., St. John, Antigo, St. Philip, Green Bay, Holy Family Conservatory, Holy Family Convent, Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. Since her retirement from active ministry in 1984, she has been residing at Holy Family Convent. She was a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 9, 1994, from 4-8 p.m. at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
