HENRY O. ALLEN
Henry O. Allen, 93, of Victoria, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001.
He was born Jan. 16, 1908, in Hopkinsville, Ken., to the late Noble Osborne and Fannie Barker Allen. He retired after 37 years as owner and operator of Allen's Candy Company. He was very active in the Baptist Association and instrumental in the organization of several Baptist churches in Victoria and surrounding areas. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors: daughters, Margaret Bond of Boerne, Elizabeth Bowen of San Antonio and Kathryn Meyer of Houston; step-daughters, Barbara Haley of Victoria and Janet Langham of Houston; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: first wife, Hildred Allen; second wife, Juanita Allen; parents, sister, Love Allen Kah; and brothers, Thomas Allen and Bailey Allen.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. tonight at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, the Revs. Bobby Ryan and Rodney McGlothlin officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosewood Funeral Chapels, Victoria, 361-573-4546.
