Sister Paul Marie Manlick, age 87, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of
Christian Charity, died Wednesday evening, July 18, 2001, at Holy Family
Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, at
Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial
will be the Rev. DePaul Sobotka, OFM, with burial at Holy Family Convent
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Margaret Manlick was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Auburndale,
daughter of the late Louis and Anna Knier Manlick. She entered the
convent in 1936 and professed her vows in 1939. Sister Paul Marie earned
a bachelor of science degree in nursing education from Marquette
University, Milwaukee, and a master of science degree in nursing from
The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. Sister Paul Marie
served as an elementary teacher at St. Peter, Ashton, Wis., and St.
Francis de Sales, Manistique, Mich. She also served as a registered
nurse and/or teacher at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc; St. Paul Home,
Kaukauna; St. Rita's at the Motherhouse, Manitowoc; and Good Samaritan
Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio. After her retirement from active ministry,
she performed a variety of services at Holy Family Convent. She is a
member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two
sisters and a brother-in-law, Esther Schrimpf, Alice and John Franz,
Manitowoc; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Josephine
Manlick, Marshfield; Roger and Beatrice Manlick, Necedah; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent from
4 to 8 p.m. Friday (TODAY) where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with
funeral arrangements.
