Joyce "Omay" Mae (Gunderson) Coopman who recently celebrated her 85th birthday passed away on October 14, 2012 at Meadowlands in Oconto Falls. She was born on October 4, 1927 in Oconto to Paul and Agnes (Prettyhart) Gunderson who preceded her in death. She was the youngest of 11 children, Howard, Gerald, Ines, Vernon, Donald, Bernice, Evelyn, Dilbert, Gilbert (Gibby) and Francis "Gundy," who have all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband Donald "Coopie" Coopman and daughter-in-law Beth Coopman.

Survivors are her children Jeff (Vicki) Coopman, Oconto Falls; Tom (Cheryl) Coopman, Waukesha, WI, Cathy Coopman, Carla (Andy) Marquardt, Jim Coopman and Marty Coopman (Michelle Tester), all of Oconto Falls; six grandchildren, Amy (Dennis "Bucky") Skalitzky and Christopher Marquardt, all of Oconto Falls; Josh (Tiffany) Coopman, Waukesha; Casey Marquardt, Kaukauna; Kelly (Mitch) Curran, Sobieski; Kayla Coopman, Abrams; great granddaughters Skylar Marquardt and Emilee Coopman.

Joyce and Donald "Coopie" were married August 30, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oconto. They farmed in Stiles until 1961 and then owned and operated Coopman Oil for 30 years. Joyce was a long time member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls.

Visitation will be held from 4pm Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of prayer service at 7pm Wednesday. Visitation will continue at St. Anthony Catholic Church after 9am Thursday until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Thursday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Joel Sember officiating. Burial will follow in the Abrams-Stiles Cemetery.

The Coopman family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Meadowlands Assisted Living and Unity Hospice for providing exceptional effort in Mom's care.
