Sr. Jacqueline Koenig, OSF, 61, died Aug. 30, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Sr. Jacqueline served as a teacher and/or principal in Wisconsin, California, Michigan and Arizona. In the Diocese of Green Bay, she served at St. Joseph, Green Bay; St. John, Antigo; St. Paul, Wrightstown; St. Bernard, Green Bay and St. Anthony, Neopit. She also taught at Menominee Tribal School in Neopit. For a short time, Sr. Jacqueline served as a homemaker at Bp. Wycislo's residence in Green Bay. She had resided in St. Rita's Health Care at the Motherhouse since January of 2006.
Sr. Jacqueline is survived by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Ronald Ward and Marcia and Joe Benmour of Green Bay; Pat and Terry Mantor of Park Falls,, Diane and Michael Lotto of Greenleaf and Karen and Jeff Franken of DePere; four brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Julie Koenig, Lyle and Lynn Koenig, Michael and Debbie Koenig and Bart and Julie Koenig, all of DePere; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Dorothy Koenig and a brother, Donald. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem on September 2, at Holy Family Convent. Chapel.

Sister Jacqueline Koenig, age 61, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 30, 2006, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
She was born May 2, 1945, in DePere, daughter of the late Allen and Dorothy (Cornelissen) Koenig. She entered he convent in 1963 and professed her vows in 1965. Sister Jacqueline earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, and a Master of Arts degree from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass. Sister Jacqueline served as a teacher and/or principal at St. Joseph and St. Bernard, Green Bay; St. John, Antigo; St. Paul, Wrightstown; St. Anthony, Neopit; Menominee Tribal School, Neopit, all of Wisconsin; St. Christopher, West Covina, Calif.; Our Lady of Peace, Ironwood, Mich.; St. Peter, Bapchule and San Xavier Mission, Tucson, Ariz. For a short time, she also served as a homemaker at the Bishop Wycislo residence in Green Bay. She had been residing in St. Rita Health Center at the Motherhouse since January 2006. She is member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
