Sister Pauline Knust, 100 died Saturday evening at Holy Family Convent, Rt. 5,
Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1030 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Chapel at Holy
Family Convent. The Rev. Julian Resch, O. Praem, will officiate with burial in
the convent cemetery.
Sister Pauline, nee Theresia Knust, was born Feb. 25, 1876, at Westphalia,
Germany, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Rhode Knust. She entered the
Order of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity in 1895 and professed her vows
in 1898. She served the community as a homemaker at Mackville, Sawyer, Kaukauna,
Potosi, Cooperstown, Hilbert and Manitowoc and in Nebraska, Ohio and Arizona,
retiring to Holy Family Convent in 1964.
Survivors include a grand niece, Sister Dorelia Hegemann, a member of Franciscan
Sisters of Christian Charity, and other nieces and nephews residing in Nebraska.
Friends may call at the convent from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
