Preston James Barras, Sr., 92, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at his home in Port Arthur.

He was born on February 18, 1920 to Adam and Emily Barras in Port Arthur.

Mr. Barras was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and had served in the United States Army during WWII. He had retired from Texaco as a machinist. He loved fishing and playing pool.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Henrietta Quintana Barras; a son, Preston Barras, Jr. and five sisters.

His survivors include six children, Gerald Barras and wife Christy of Quincy, FL, Bealita Rife and husband Michael of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Yvonne Watson and husband Ronald of Groves, Barbara Brice of Port Arthur, Ronald Barras of Port Arthur, Clint Barras of Groves; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
