Columbus Moss, 70, of Madison died Monday, February 8, 2010. He was the son of John Columbus Moss and Lucille Stone Moss of Jasper. He was born June 14, 1939. Mr. Moss was retired from Ed Taylor Construction Company as a superintendent. He attended Madison Christian Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge # 376. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing. He was a talented carpenter and woodworker. Mr. Moss loved his grandchildren.

Mr. Moss is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dora Sealy Moss and their children, Debora Florence and Sammy, Samuel Doyle Moss, Rita Kay Hawkins and Richard and a niece Johnnie Sue Hawkins and Larry; grandchildren, Samuel Eddie Florence III, Amanda Jane Florence, John Adam Florence, Shelby Dale Moss, Nicholas Greyson Moss, Richard Kelvin Hawkins Jr., Gregory Alen Hawkins, Miranda Rose Hawkins, Kylea Shanay Cook and Garrett Mahone.

The family received friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 11 at Madison Christian Church. Interment will be at Madison Memorial Park.
