Able Seaman, U.S. Naval Reserve, World War One-Mr. Robertson, The Great Bradley Coach & Athletic Director, died at the Mayo Clinic on 10-30-1948 with his wife, and two sons, Jimmy & Hill, and one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Peterson, at his bedside. Also at his bedside was his Assistant Coach, Mr. John "Dutch" Meinen.

He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred J. Robertson of South Haven, Minnesota, and the family did move short time later to St. Cloud, Minnesota where he was a 1909 graduate of St. Cloud H.S., and he attended Carleton College, and the University of Montana where he graduated in 1916. He is the husband of Mrs. A.J. Robertson, and the father of three children.

His first coaching job was at Fort Hayes State, Kansas for one year, and in 1920 came to Bradley to coach Football, Baseball, and Basketball for 28 years, and also be it's Athletic Director. There was a Field House named in honor where they played Basketball, and that was torn down a few years ago for a New Renaissance Center for the girls to play Basketball & Volleyball.
