Betty loved the Lord and had in earlier years been a long-time member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dauphin. She most recently attended Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Carlisle. She cherished life, family, and friends, and in her free time enjoyed reading, herb and flower gardening, arts and crafts, cooking and baking, as well as traveling. She was a member of the former Stoney Creek Social Club and enjoyed attending the 3rd Armored Division reunions with her late husband, Ray.
In addition to her parents and husband Ray, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry E. Patrick; her son, Ray L. Zook, Jr.; grandson, Michael Patrick; brothers, Gerald, Paul Jr. and Donald Kiner; and daughter-in-law Carol Patrick. Surviving are her sons, Larry E. Patrick and wife Doris of Dauphin, Thomas A. Patrick of Mt. Upton, NY, and Norman F. Zook and wife Eileen of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Robert Patrick and wife Tammy, Ray Patrick and wife Renee, Jay Patrick, Patricia Mitchell and husband Robert, and Zachary Zook; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Moore of Elizabethtown and Linda Oren of Harrisburg; sisters-in-law, Bettie Hazzard, Hazel Kiner, and Margaret Zook; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all the caregivers at Messiah Village and Hospice for the love, compassion, and skill that they provided for Betty during her stay there.
Viewing will be held at the Messiah Village Chapel on Tuesday, October 16 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 AM at the chapel and will be followed immediately by a luncheon at Messiah Village. Burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
