Her first husband was James Jennings who was born about 1823 in England. They were living in Nevada City, Nevada Co., California in the 1860s to 1870s. Several of their children died young and are buried at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Mary Ann Jennings married Andrew Jackson Stiles in Nevada City, California on March 4, 1872.
Her daughter Emma E. was married to presumed Andrew Jackson Stiles and was living with him and her mother Mary Jennings in Nevada City, Nevada Co., California in the 1870 federal census- her mother age 45 born in England, Andrew J. Stiles born in New Jersey age 38, and Emma E. Stiles age 25 born in England. Two years later Mary Jennings had married A.J. Stiles.
In an news article Emma was listed as "Mrs. Emma Styles (Stiles) marriage to A. J. Rigsby" in Nevada City, California in 1872.
