Mr. William Carmel "Buck" Phillips, age 87, of 1264 Old Hwy. 100, Waco, GA, passed away on January 19, 2011.
Mr. Phillips was born October 17, 1923 in Waco, GA to the late James Brad and Marvel Johnson Phillips.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Cora Johnson and Jordan and Marianna Phillips; a sister Geraldine Day; two nieces, Pam Phillips Wright and Jeanna Durr Russell; two nephews, Chris Durr and Ricky Phillips; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Durr.
Mr. Phillips was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and served in the US Army during World War II.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his sister; a brother and sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 1:00 PM from Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy McGuire and Rev. T. J. Morgan officiating. He will lie in state from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Music will be provided by Harold McWhorter.
Interment will follow in Antioch Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 21, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home.
