Born September 26, 1914 in Simpsonville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late John David and Laura Ruth Lawson West.
She was a homemaker, a Charter Member of Laurens Road Methodist Church and a current member of Dickson Memorial Methodist Church, Townville, S.C.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Edward White, Jr., a daughter, Edwina "Wina" Garrison, a grandson, S. Wade Reynolds, and two sisters, Malee "Mac" White and Nina Lollis.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha "Bobbi" and Heyward Owens of Greenville, S.C. and Norma and Sam Reynolds of Columbia, S.C.; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great- great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at The Mackey Mortuary. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 or to the charity of one's choice.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Debbie Rush and Ellen Sponsler for their compassionate and loving care given to Mother over the past year and to Crissy Simpson and the Staff of Medi Home Hospice.
