Adolph, the son of Anders & Johanna Svenson, was 27 & a ore miner when he married Anna Lof, 21,

the daughter of Jon Lof, who was working as a servant. Carl Almin, M.G. officiated the Feb. 18, 1893 ceremony in Iron Mountain, Dickinson, Michigan. Attendants were Fred Kroberg & Mrs Jon Kronberg, both of Iron Mountain. (Dickinson County Marriage Records 1878- 1891 as per license)


Adolph was an assistant pumpman at the #1 Shaft of the Pewabic

Iron Ore Mine, Dickinson, Michigan in October 1907.

Mr. & Mrs. Adolph Anderson, 605 East A Street, observed the 49th anniversary of their wedding, yesterday at a party given by their daughter, Mrs. Joseph Rigoni.

Adolph Anderson & Anna Lof were wedded on February 18, 1893 in the home in which they

are still living. (February 20, 1942, The Iron Mountain Daily newspaper, Michigan


MR. & MRS. ADOLPH ANDERSON OBSERVE 50TH ANNIVERSARY

In the house at 605 East A Street, where they were wedded 50 years ago & have lived since, Mr. & Mrs. Adolph Anderson, pioneer residents of Iron Mountain, yesterday observed the golden jubilee of their marriage, which took place on Feb. 18, 1893.

The late Rev. Carl Almen, then pastor of Saron Lutheran Church, later named First Lutheran, wedded

the couple, who have been members of the chuch for 53 years.Victor Henry, now living in Norway &

the lat Mrs. Henry attended the couple.

Mrs. Anderson, the former Anna Leaf, 71, came to Iron Mountain in

1888 while Mr. Anderson, 78, came in 1885. After the couple became engaged, Mr. Anderson arranged

for the construction of their home.

They furnished it & repeated their marriage vows in the livingoom.

They are the parents of 5 children, with one dying in infancy:

Mrs. Joseph Rigoni, 400 Foster Street; Mrs. Meryl Johnson, Lansing, son, James "Jimmy"
