L.L. McCord, age 85, passed away Monday afternoon in Eddyville, after an illness of several years. He was a brother of Mrs. Mattie Garrett of Fremont. Funeral services were held today at St. Mary's Church in Eddyville, with the burial in the Eddyville cemetery.
Mr. McCord was a recorder of Mahaska County for two terms and was formally in the lumber business with Wig Harding in Eddyville. He had lived on a farm near Cedar, and was at one time a member of the Cedar baseball team.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Herman of St. Paul Minnesota; Orville and Ralph; three brothers, Ray and Rollie of Moravia and Frank of Eddyville and another sister besides Mrs. Garrett. Mrs. Jessie Tennis of California.
