Obit: Charles Schumacher, 89, of 121 Church St., Rayland, died Thursday in East Ohio Regional Hospital at Martins Ferry. He was born July 29, 1916 at Woodsfield, son of the late Leo and Barbara Weisend Schumacher.

A retired meat cutter, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Indian Club, and fire department all of Tiltonsville, VFW of Martins Ferry, Brilliant American Legion, and was a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by two brotehrs, Ambrose and Gilbert Schumacher.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Conaway Schumacher; two sons, Edward of Dover and Keith of North Myrtle Beach, S. C.; three-brothers, Lawrence of St. Clairsville, and William and Norbert, both of Woodsfield; four sisters, Sister Evelyn Ann of Manitowac, Wis., Mrs. Lucian (Lucille) Block of Cincinnati, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Jennings of Charleston, and Mrs. Paul (Evelyn) King of Beverly.

Friends received at Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic, with the Rev. Tom Petronek the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Sylvester Cemetery, Woodsfield. Tiltonsville firemen will hold services at 7 p.m. Sunday followed by Rosary services at 7:30 p.m.
