W. C. WITT married Amanda Estella Hardin in McLennan County, TX in 1884 and the couple moved to Hollis, Harmon County, Oklahoma in 1890, where a family of five daughters and three sons were reared. In 1910, they moved on to Duke, Oklahome in Greer County. In 1911, the family moved back to Texas to live, where in 1920 census, they were in Brazoria, Texas. William was a retired farmer; in 1930 census William (age 70) and Amanda were living with a daughter, Jessie Witt, who had six (6) youngsters under the age of 15.
Mr. Witt died in Montague County September 17, 1937 of hypertensive heart disease.
