Rosemary M. Devaney, 85 of Monticello, IA, died Thursday, October 11, at Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello, where a parish vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friends may continue to call after 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Birch will officiate with Rev. Herbert Tegeler concelebrating.

Rosemary was born June 10, 1927, daughter of Laurence and Teresa (Takes) Decker in Bernard, IA. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Garryowen, IA in 1945. She attended Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque, IA, where she received her RN degree in 1948.

Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her faith and family were most important to her. She also enjoyed music, sewing, painting, and quilting.

Survivors include her husband Robert, 8 children, Beth (Darnell) Porter of Monticello, IA, Patrick Devaney (Kathy Adams) of Monticello, IA, John Devaney of Delhi, IA, Karen (Terry) Solomon of Manchester, IA, Tom Devaney (Barb Siefker) of Anamosa, IA, Mike (Doris) Devaney of Cedar Rapids, IA, Diane (Matt) Lund of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jeff (Holly) Devaney of Marion, IA, 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. 3 sisters, Betty Johnson, Jean McClain and Sally (Jim) Hoerner all of Dubuque, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Mary Paula, 6 siblings, Leo Hirtz, Loretta McCarthy, Veronica Gross, Mary Catherine Connolly, Earl Decker and Imelda McDermott.
