Keith Kallenbach Keith Alan Kallenbach, 74, formerly of Newport and Toledo, died Feb. 23, 2005. He was born to parents Oscar Evan and Agnes Bell Kallenbach at home near Hill City, Kan. May 16, 1930. He attended Millbrook elementary school, graduated from Hill City High School, and attended the University of Kansas. He was in the U.S. Army in Korea and later re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Germany. His time in Germany sparked an interest to return to the place of his ancestry, which he did many times. He belonged to the Christian Church, and worked as a seismographer in Kansas before moving to Oregon. He was a chemist with Georgia Pacific Paper Mill from its beginning until he retired. In his retirement, he enjoyed travel, antiques and conservative politics. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Howard Kallenbach; and sisters, Christina Krutsinger and Eunice Switzer. Survivors include sister, Ruby (Law) Hugg of Abilene, Kan.; nephews, Gene Law, Kent Law, Bevin Law and Jim Switzer; and niece Judy (Switzer) Desbien. Inurnment will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
