Brad "Jack" Leon Franklin, 76, of Manitou, KY passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center in Madisonville.

He was born on December 16, 1935 in Madisonville, KY to the late Rela and William Gilbert Franklin. He was a United States Army Veteran and was retired as a self-employed contractor. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Franklin; two brothers, William Franklin and Charles Franklin; his sister, Jane Hibbs and his great-grandson, Jaxton Michael Fryar.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Watson of Washington; four sons, Larry Don (Tara) Fryar of Madisonville, Jackie (Kelley) Fryar of Anton, KY, Brad Thomas Franklin of Madisonville and Gary Heath Franklin of Pittsburg, CA; his sister, Ida Fox of Beulah, KY; his granddaughter, Athena Franklin; seven grandsons, Brandon (Beth) Austin, Christopher Austin, Michael Fryar, Ryan Watson, Jason Fryar, Nicholas Deramo and Gino Franklin; his great-granddaughter, Addison Jade Fryar; his great-grandson, Landon Tyler Austin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville. Military honors will be conducted graveside by the Hopkins County Honor Guard. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home.
