Bernice "Honey" G. Thompson, age 88, of Lindsey, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Three Oaks in Marshfield. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church (9529 State Rd 80) in Marshfield. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday. Burial will take place at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Marshfield.

Bernice was born July 23, 1929, the daughter of Howard and Anna (Kren) Strebing on the family farm in Neillsville. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1947. On June 2, 1947 Bernice was united in marriage to the love of her life Richard Thompson in Neillsville, Wisconsin.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshfield. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She especially enjoyed raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those that knew Bernice best will miss her warm smile, her generosity, and her love of flowers.

Bernice is lovingly survived by her children: Mary (William) Kastern, Connie (Ronald) Bredemann, Daniel Thompson, Peter Thompson, Richard Thompson Jr., Melvin (Ruth) Thompson, and Amy Bolz; 19 grandchildren and many "great" and "great great" grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: Arthur (Doris) Strebing of Henderson, NV, Betty (Oliver) Hall of Marshfield, WI, Howard Strebing Jr. of Tucson, AZ, and Shelley (Bill) Scott of Calhan, CO. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. She will truly be missed.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; as well as two children: Kathie Williams and Samuel Thompson; and a sister: Annette Strebing in infancy.

The family would like to thank the staff at Marshfield Medical Facility, Three Oaks Nursing Care, and Ministry Home Health Care for their care and compassion.
