Edythe M. McDowell, 97, of Hannibal, died at 1:50 p.m. June 11, 1998, at Luther Manor.
Funeral services for Mrs. McDowell will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Lindell Avenue Christian Church. Pastor David Abbott will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park.
Mrs. McDowell was born June 2, 1901, in Nickelton to Elmer and Susan Belle Anthony Glenn.
She was married to William McDowell on July 30, 1922. He preceded her in death March 17, 1967.
Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Sinclair of Chicago, Ill. and Ada David of Hot Springs, Ark.; two daughters-in-law, including Ruby McDowell of Hannibal; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Clifford McDowell and Billy McDowell; one grandson; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Marguerite McNeal and Rose Baker.
Mrs. McDowell was a homemaker and a charter member of the Lindell Avenue Christian Church.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Monday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Children's Department of the Lindell Avenue Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be Sandy Alles, Rick Sinclair, Dan Sinclair, Kent David, Terrill David, Jeff McDowell, Ron McDowell and Ginger McDowell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Janine Culbreth, Pamela Fredwell, Tina Bojko, Debra Slezak, Lee Palmer, Susan Huber, Michael McDowell and Dennis McDowell.
