Roger Williams, 62, of Ethelsville, AL passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at West Alabama Hospice, Tuscaloosa, AL. Visitation will be Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 10-11 AM at First Assembly of God, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM at the First Assembly of God, Columbus, MS with Bro. Derick Youngblood officiating. Interment will be in Ethelsville Baptist Church Cemetery, Ethelsville, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Williams was born February 15, 1950, in Columbus, MS to the late J.L. and Ruby Burns Williams. He was a graduate of the New Hope High School class of 1968. Mr. Williams was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps., a member of the Marine Corps league, and the VFW. He was a member of First Assembly of God, Columbus, MS. Mr. Williams retired in 2010 from his construction business. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his mother in law, Frances Ruth. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Nancy Williams, Ethelsville, AL; sons, Jason Williams (D.J.), Columbus, MS, Ryder Williams and Hunter Williams, all of Ethelsville, AL; daughter, Chyna Williams; sisters, Cheri Smith (Tony), Columbus, MS and Donna Wright (Steve) Tabor, NC; granddaughter, Hope Williams; nieces, Paige Smith and Amanda Wright; nephews, Brian Smith and Craig Wright. Pallbearers will be Benny Benson, Greg Lane, Dick Webster, Richard Cole, Robert McKay, Gary Chism, Terry Brown and Dennis Haines. Honorary pallbearers will be David Yarrington, Ronny Harrison and Perry Money. Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Children's Ministry, 2201 Military Rd., Columbus, MS 39705.
