Mrs. Rose M. Maurer, 77, Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Cove Manor Williamsburg, died Sunday, June 18, 2000, at the home.
She was born May 2, 1923, in Rush, the daughter of the late John and Catherine Pekar. She married Raymond G. Maurer April 2, 1947. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Maurer was a homemaker. She enjoyed walking and exercising. Surviving are four sons: Paul Baker in New Hampshire, Sherwood Maurer of Altoona and Dennis Maurer and Robert Maurer, both of Duncansville; three daughters: Cecelia Green in Maryland, Rebecca Burt in Georgia and Theresa Murray of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Stevens Mortuary Inc.
The funeral will be held at 10 am Wednesday June 21, 2000 at Stevens Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Father Frank A. Scornaienchi, Third Order Regular. Committal will be made at Calvary Cemetry. She is survived by a friend, Tony DeCasper of Altoona. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Pekar.
