According to a Power of Attorney for Mary Morrison Kester from 1845, Joseph Kester is listed as the deceased son of Joseph and Mary Kester. Based on a court document and a family history written by Joseph's grandson Clark D. Kester, Joseph Kester died abt. March of 1835, shortly after settling in to his new home. His place of burial is unknown, however his wife Sarah 'Bonnell' (also spelled Bunnell) Kester is said to have been buried here at Shawtown. Her burial spot is also unmarked.
