Dorothy Staats, 88, of Vienna, died Feb. 26, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital of Parkersburg.
She was born Dec. 10, 1913, in Scarbro, W.Va., a daughter of the late William E. and
Clydia Eans Johnson. She retired from The Guard Cleaners and was a member of the 10th Avenue Church of God of Parkersburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Baughman of Parkersburg; one sister-in-law, Maxine Johnson of Vienna; 17 grandchildren; including her caregiver with whom she lived, Candace Lamp of Vienna; 35 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Johnson of Vienna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur L. Staats; two brothers; two sisters; and four daughters.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna. Rev. Pack will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery of Parkersburg. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
