He was born July 29, 1933 to Samuel Harold and Neoma Hansen Watson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Garry was a man who served others. He joined the U.S. Air Force at 17 and served in the Korean War as a crash rescue firefighter. Dad was an air-brake machinist with Kennecott Copper for 30 years and a tool and dye maker for Kedman Company. He retired in 1998.
He was a Master Mason, Scottish Rite 32 Degree and member of El Kalah Temple.
Garry is survived by his three children, Daniel, Garry Scott (Janine) and Laura (Jon Woodford); seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sisters (Sharon Mathias and Shirley Wickens).
He was preceded in death by his wife (Carol), parents, brother (Harold) and sister (Jennie Ruth).
A viewing will be held Wednesday October 10th from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home; 4335 W. 4100 S. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 11th at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment at Valley View Cemetery. www.valleyviewfuneral.com.
