Sister Mary Mark Hoeller, age 95, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of
Christian Charity, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at Holy Family
Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2000 at Holy
Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the mass of Christian Burial will
be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem, with burial at Holy Family Convent
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Elizabeth Hoeller May 21, 1904, at Port Washington, Wis.,
daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Schwalbach Hoeller. Sister Mary
Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Saint Mary College, Los
Angeles, Calif. She entered the Convent in 1921 and professed her Vows
in 1924. Sister Mary Mark served as an elementary teacher and/or
principal at St. Boniface, Manitowoc, St. Joseph, Oneida, St. Joseph,
Kellnersville, Wis., San Xavier Mission, Tucson, St. John, Komatke, St.
Anthony, Topawa, Immaculate Conception, Yuma and St. Peter Mission,
Bapchule, Ariz. She also served as Administrator at St. Joseph Home,
West Point, Nebraska and homemaker at Covered Wells, Ariz. After
retiring from active ministry, she performed various tasks at Ozanam
Home, New Berlin and served as a helper in the Craft Room and as post
mistress in the mailroom at the Motherhouse. Since 1991, she has been a
resident of St. Rita Health Facilities. She is a member of the
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc,
where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with
funeral arrangements.
