Sister M. Edwarda, 86, died Monday noon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Convent Chapel,
Silver Lake, with the Rev. D. F. Hurley officiating at the funeral Mass.
Burial will be in the convent cemetery.
Sister Mary Edwarda, the former Mary Hillbacher, was born in Austria May 20, 1872, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Ritten Hillbacher. She came to
the United States as a young girl and settled with them at Wausau. She entered
the convent of the Order of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity at Manitowoc and made her first religious profession May 20, 1890. In September
of 1903 Sister Edwarda joined the staff at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, and served as its baker for more than 40 years.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Niles Nelson of Wausau and several nieces and
nephews. Three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
