Son of Thomas J. CHURCH and Hester Algenia "Heddie" BRANDON (1856-1889)
He was known by his middle name Harris CHURCH

His wife put on his death certificate that he was born in Manchester, Tennessee.

1880 Census - age 1; Decherd, Franklin County, Tennessee, "Harry Church" is living with his parents Tom and Algenia CHURCH. 27 & 24 years old, Tom was a Laborer and Algenia Keeping House. Also in the house was his 4 year old brother William CHURCH.

1900 Census - age 20; Day laborer, Huntsville, Madison county, Alabama

He married Mary Lucinda "Lula" Richmond (see link) in Huntsville, Alabama May 3, 1902
Children:
1. Mary "Louise" CHURCH (see link) was born in Golden Colorado in 1903. According to Louise's birth certificate he was a painter in Denver.
2. Roman Arthur CHURCH (1905-1908) was born and died in Sherman, Texas
3. Edward CHURCH died at birth
Several other children died at birth.

I was told by family that he worked for a company in Tennessee that made handles for tools and was transferred to Sherman, Texas, where he met Lu Richmond. But this doesn't really make sense with the locations and chronology above.

His 1918 draft registration lists his age as 39; residence 2600 Muncie Blvd., Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas; and his occupation "farmer".

I was also told that he worked at a cotton mill in Armourdale, Kansas.

The 1920 census lists his occupation as "laborer - manufacturing co."

Though they lived across the river in Kansas City, Kanasas, Harris and Lu had a "confectionery" in Kansas City, Missouri about 1920, where his daughter, Louise, met Jim LOGAN.

He was 45 years old when he died. According to his death certificate he was a "laborer". He died of kidney disease (which he had been treated for four years); heart disease contributed (treated for 2 years). My mother was always told he died from an "enlarged heart".
