CAVE SPRING - Mrs. Thomas Lemuel Barron Sr., 101, 31 Cedartown St., died Saturday at a Rome health-care center.
Mrs. Barron, the former Mary Susan Fall, was a native of Fayette County, born Jan. 4, 1884, daughter of Milton Battle and Alice Chatfield Baggarly Fall. She was a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church and was responsible for the present location of the church. She was a local singer. Mrs. Barron was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 3, 1931.
Survivors include a son, Thomas L. Barron II, Decatur; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Berentz, Cave Spring, Mrs. Sarah Nelson, Williamsburg, Va., Mrs Susan Barrett, Pensacola, Fla. and Mrs. Virginia Soldicco, South Gate, Mich.; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. today at Cave Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Glen Puckett officiating.
