Sr. Ann Hennes, age 96, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Sunday, October 31, 1999, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 1999, at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O.Praem with burial to follow at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Anna Hennes on May 26, 1904, in Kaukauna, Wis., daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Schomisch Hennes. She entered the convent in 1920 and professed her vows in 1923. Sr. Ann earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Norbert College, DePere, Wis. She serves as an elementary teacher and/or principal at St. John the Baptist, Plymouth, St. Boniface and Sacred Heart, Manitowoc, Holy Rosary, Kewaunee, St. Anthony, Oconto Falls, Sacred Heart, Oshkosh, St. John, Antigo. St. Mary, Algoma, St. Joseph, Waukesha, St. Mary, Clarks Mills, St. Joseph, Sturgeon Bay, St. Phillip & St. Agnes, Green Bay, St. James, Cooperstown, St. Edward, Mackville, St. Therese, Appleton, St. Mary, Rhinelander, St. Mary, Reedsville, St. Mary, Kaukauna, St. Mary, Bloomington, Wis., St. Willibrord, Chicago, Ill., St. Agnes, Mingo Junction, Ohio and Holy Family Lindsay, Neb. After retiring from full-time teaching, she served as a part-time tutor and worker in the Book Store at Xavier High School, Appleton, Wis. She has been a resident of St. Rita Health Center at the Motherhouse since 1994. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Hennes, Kaukauna, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 3, 1999, from 4-8 p.m. at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting with funeral arrangements.
