Sister Julitta Hennes, 97, of the Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died
Monday, September 24, 1990 at the Holy Family Convent. Funeral services
will be 10:30 am Friday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Presiding the
Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Robert B. Reppen, O.Praem. Burial
to follow in the Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
The former Catherine Marie Hennes was born September 13, 1893 in
Kaukauna, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Schomisch
Hennes. She entered the convent in 1910, professing her vows in 1913.
Sister Julitta earned a B.A. Degree from the Catholic University of
America and a M.Ed from Marquette University. Sister taught at Random
Lake, Francis Creek, Rhinelander, Oshkosh, Green Bay, Appleton, St.
Boniface, Holy Innocents, Holy Family Academy of Manitowoc, Wisconsin,
Ironwood, Michigan and was a Diocesan Supervisor of Education for the
Green Bay Diocese for 11 years. Since her retirement from active
ministry in 1975 she has been residing at the Mother House.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; two
sisters, Sister Ann Hennes, OSF, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Miss Gertrude
Hennes of Oneida, Wisconsin; a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and
Gertrude Hennes of Kaukauna; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Myrtle Hennes of
Kaukauna and Mrs. Minnie Hennes of Appleton; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 8 pm
Thursday, where a prayer service will be held at 7 pm. Pfeffer Funeral
Home, Manitowoc, in charge of funeral arrangements.
