Sister Mary Hebein, age 90, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Tuesday, July 5, 1994, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, 1994, at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated by the Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem., with burial in Holy Family Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mary Hebein was born September 2, 1903, in Iron Mountain, Mich., daughter of the late Martin and Catherine Rachoi Hebein. She entered the convent in 1918 and professed her vows in 1923. Sister Mary earned a B.A. degree from St. Norbert College, De Pere. Sister served as a teacher and/or principal at Sturgeon Bay, Kewaunee, Plymouth, Appleton, Reedsville, Manitowoc, Brillion, Oneida, Rice Lake, Waukesha, Seymour, Oconto Falls, De Pere, Wis.; Manistique, Escanaba, Menominee, Mich.; Chicago, Ill. and Wellsburg, W.V. Sister retired from active duty in 1981 and has been residing at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one sister, Sister Lina Hebein, OSF, Manitowoc; one brother and two sisters-in-law, John and Eleanore Hebein, Casco, Wis., Margaret Hebein, Iron Mountain, Mich., nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 1994, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
