Passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 4, 1975. Mr. Vanderslik was born February 7, 1885 in Salem, Michigan, the son of Peter and Jean Vanderslik and had lived most of his life in Kalamazoo. He was a charter member of the Calvary Bible Church. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a custodian at Western Michigan University. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna, in 1959, his second wife, Hattie, in 1972 and a daughter, Mrs. Jean Afman in 1974. Surviving are 2 daughters and 4 sons, James A., Mrs. Pearl Appledoorn, Marvin J, Mrs. Gladys R. Donahue, all of Kalamazoo, Alvin J of Fullerton, Calif., Donald T. of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several neices and nephews. Private memorial services will be held Friday at the Langeland Chapel, 622 S. Burdick, Rev. Tunis W. Mouw officiating. Interment in Mt. EverRest Cemetary.
