LORIS | Mr. Edwood ''Ed'' Wade Cox, age 76, of Loris, died Saturday, Mar. 5, 2005, at Loris Community Hospital following an illness.
Born Sept. 1, 1928 in Loris, Mr. Cox was the son of the late O.V. Cox Sr. and the late Inez Mincey Cox. Mr. Cox was the owner of Loris Seafood and Oyster Roast, a member of the Loris First United Methodist Church, a Master Mason, and a past Master of Loris Lodge #205.
Survivors include his wife, Claris Carol Cox of Loris; two daughters, Myra Cox and Deborah Cox Harris of Loris; one son, Edwood Dale Cox of Loris; four brothers, O.V. Cox Jr., Wilbur Cox, Terry Wayne Cox and Doug Cox, all of Loris; three sisters, Diane Bennett and Shelby Jean Plemmons, both of Spartanburg, and Carolyn Royals of Conway; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Cox was predeceased by two brothers, Bill Cox and Frank Cox.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2005 at Loris First United Methodist Church with burial following at Twin City Cemetery and officiated by the Rev. Carl Harris and the Rev. Bill Heustess.
