MUNCIE--Nancy L. (Harrison) McIntyre, 82, of Muncie, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital with her daughter and Heidi by her side.
Nancy was born March 23, 1930 in Muncie, to the late Charles and Marie Harrison.
She was a 1948 graduate of Anderson High School. She worked in Plant 11 of Delco Remy in Anderson for over 38 years. She helped start the girls golf team at Anderson High School. She enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, the outdoors, crafts, yard sales, and helping others. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very caring and giving lady who never met a stranger.
Nancy is survived by two sons, George McIntyre II of New Albany, IN, and Chuck McIntyre of Middletown; her daughter and caregiver, Diana McIntyre of Muncie; a friend who was like a daughter, Heidi Wilson of Muncie; and her Heidi's son, Ryan Wilson of Middletown; and five grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her former husband, George W. McIntyre I.
A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, with Pastor Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park at a later date. Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Muncie Mission at 1725 S. Liberty Street, Muncie, IN 47302.
