BRIAN D. HARPER, 44, of North Wood Street, Loudonville, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, October 7, 2012 in Samaritan Regional Health Center.

Brian was born December 11, 1967 in Zanesville and was the son of Raymond and Bonita (Swartzmiller) Harper. He was a 1986 graduate of Maysville High School and a 16-year employee of Mansfield Plumbing Products. He has lived in the Loudonville area since 1996, coming from Zanesville, and attended the St. Peter Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing ball. He was a rock music aficionado and his greatest joy was watching his sons' athletic events. He was a member of Beano's Buckeye Ballroom Softball Team.

He is survived by his wife, Janice L. (Derr) Harper, whom he married June 28, 2003; 3 sons: Adam T., Mason D., and Lane M.R. Harper, all of Loudonville; his mother: Bonita Schaffer of Zanesville; 2 brothers: Tim "Buck" (Tawnya) Severt of Utica and Brady (Tammie) Severt of Zanesville; 1 sister: Betsy Shaffer (Charlie Fenton) of Zanesville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: James & Linda Derr of Loudonville; 3 brothers-in-law: William (Miyuki) Derr and Stephen (Carla) Derr, both of Columbus, Gregory (Jessica) Derr of Ashland; 2 sisters-in-law: Marlo (Justin) Chaney of Chicago, and Margaret (Nathan) Miracle of Dayton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Harper.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 12th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church, Loudonville with Father Vincent Hawk officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Loudonville. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in BYERLY-LINDSEY FUNERAL HOME, LOUDONVILLE on Thursday, October 11th.
