Daughter of Thomas Brownlow (1783-?) and Elizabeth Marshall. Granddaughter of Phillip Brownlow (1757-?) and Mary Bowring(?).

Charles and Ann Foster and their six boys arrived in Boston, Massachusetts aboard the ship Propontis on April 1, 1867. Charles obtained his naturalization papers in Aurora, IL in 1872. The family, minus George, then moved to Greene County, IA, settling near Farnhamville

Charles and Ann lived in Iowa for 25 years and eventually moved to La Crosse, WI to be near two of their children. A son, Samuel, born about 1859 and shown in the 1861 (England Census), made the voyage to the United States in 1867 but is not found in the 1870 Census.
