FUNERAL SERVICES FOR LLOYD MONTEE GORDON HELD AUGUST 31

Funeral services for Lloyd Montee "Monty" Gordon were held Aug. 31 in the Northside Baptist Church, with the Rev. B.E. Hannah and the Rev. T.M. Draffin officiating. Interment followed in Whispering Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Gordon, 19, was killed Aug 29 when the vehicle he was driving south on U.S. 17 at Eulonia crossed the centerline and struck a tree on the east side of the road. Preston Terrell, 25, of Townsend, a passenger in the vehicle, was also injured in the accident and is a patient in the Brunswick hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of McIntosh County and was a 1979 graduate of Oglethorpe Academy. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby C. Gordon, Darien; a sister Miss Ginger Gordon, Darien; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Middleton, Townsend; paternal grandmother, Mrs. R.O. Middleton, Ludowici; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Active pallbearers were Cliff Beecher, Rusty Lamb, Glenn Townsend, Ad Poppell, Donald Gordon, and G.B. Mitchell.

Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
