Gary had served 8 years when he was Killed In Action in South Vietnam.

He had been cadre at the Officers Candidate School in Fort Knox Kentucky in 1966 and 1967 and is remembered by those who knew him.

A pilot and aviation unit commander, Gary was killed when his base camp in Tay Ninh Province was attacked and he was hit by shrapnel.

He was age 25 at death.

Gary is memorialized on the Wall Panel 34W Line 084

While his HOR was San Pablo Ca, his wife, son and daughter survived him in the Tacoma Washington area.
