Mr. Boyce T. "Gitney" Beard, son of the late Mr. Christopher Beard and Mrs. Willie Bass Beard, was born 30 Sept 1920 in Green Co and departed this life on Tues 27 Sept 1994 at the Nortons Hospital in Louisville [KY]. He was 73 years, 11 months and 28 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liletown United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of WWII, where he served in the US Army. He was also a retired civil service employee, where he worked as a mechanic for the motor pool.

He united in marriage to Miss Ruth Geneva Neagle on 29 Nov. 1947 who survives.

He is also survived by 1 brother and 1 sister: Johnny Beard and Dee Beard, both of Greensburg; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Mr. Boyce T. "Gitney" Beard, were conducted at 1 pm Fri 30 Sept at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Liletown Cem. Rev. Raul Mills officiated. Full Military honors were conducted at the cem. by the Taylor Co Chapter #70 of the DAV. Active pallbearers were Charles Carter, Bendal Bagby, Bobby Joe Beard, Keith Jeffries, Curtis Jeffries and Phillip Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were Doodle Lile, Payton Loy, Billy Wright, Terry Neagle, Joe E. Groggett, Michael Beard and Tommy Vanarsdale.
