Lillian D. (Mitzel) Spang­ler, 86, of York, died at 2 a.m. Wednes­day at Manor Care Health Services Dallastown. She was the wife of Clair R. Spangler Sr., who died Jan. 19, 1997.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Sat­urday at the Workinger-Semmel Fu­neral Home Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Christ United Methodist Cemetery in Jacobus. Viewing will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sat­urday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Spangler was born March 3, 1914, in North York. She was the daughter of the late William H. and Mazie M. (Hartman) Mitzel.
She attended Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist. She was a 52-year member of York Association of the Deaf; a life member of the Pennsylvania Society for Advance­ment of the Deaf; and a member of Deaf and Impaired Senior Citizens of Philadelphia.
Mrs. Spangler is survived by two sons, Clair R. Spangler Jr. and Leroy D. Spangler, both of York; four grand­children; four great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial con­tributions may be made to Deaf Center of York, in care of Lutheran Social Services, 750 Kelly Drive, York.
