Landon Shepherd Kirby was born July 22, 1878 and died May 26, 1959, age 80 years, 10 months and 4 days. He obeyed the gospel in early manhood.
In 1897 he was married to Allie McNabb who preceded him in death. To this union was born two children, one of whom survives; Mrs. Lura Audd of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
On January 11, 1903 he was married to Lizzie Kirby, who preceded him in death. To this union were born 7 children; Vivan, Frank and Dora preceded him in death. Survivors are Mrs. Mable Pruett and John Kirby, Granville, Mrs. Ila Apple, Cookeville Route 2 and Mrs. Velma Brown Baxter Route 1. Also surviving is his wife, Mrs. Martha Ann Kirby, who he married November 1955; three brothers, Alfred, Estes and Charlie, Gainesboro; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Wheeler, Bloomington Springs; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Liberty Church of Christ by Robert Fox. Burial was in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Sutton Funeral Home in charge.
