a landmark whose life goes back well toward a century and has ever been true and honorable—
a man that was loved and honored for his gentleness and upright character.
On the farm which his grandfather purchased from the Holland Land company in 1816, he was born October 5, 1830. All his life was spent on the same farm and his death occurred there February 18, 1919. He was a son of Emerson and Amanda Kendall, and was the last of the family.
May 18, 1870, he married Susan Baldwin of Farmersville, who survives with three daughters, Kathleen, who married Frank Van Dusen; Margaret, who married Edward Pratt, and Edith, who married Charles Pettit; and Elmore Baldwin, a nephew, has always lived with them and is loved as an own son.
The funeral was held from his late home Friday afternoon, Rev. Williams officiating, assisted by Rev. Norris, and the burial took place in the Rushford cemetery.
The family wish to express their sincere thanks to the friends for their many acts of kindness.
