Lydia Eugenia "Jean" Watkins Amerson JOHNS ISLAND - Lydia Eugenia "Jean" Watkins Amerson, 88, of Johns Island, SC, widow of the late Thomas Marion "Buster" Amerson, entered into eternal rest peacefully after a brief illness, on December 21, 2013, at Hospice of Charleston. Lydia was born in Lee County, SC, in 1925, the daughter of the late Charlie Benjamin and the late Anzilla Baxley Watkins. She is survived by her children: Virgie (Roger) Swift, of Johns Island, SC, Vic (Edith) Amerson of Ravenel, SC, Velva Peterson of Apopka, FL; son-in-law, Randy Clem of North Charleston, SC; 8 grands and 6 great-grands. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vesta Clem. She was a member of the Truelight Church of Christ, Lucknow, SC. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker to her husband and children. She was much loved by her family and will be missed. The family wishes to thank the caring wound care nurses from AMEDYSIS, and the caring staff at Hospice of Charleston for all of the love and support give to her and our family during her last days.
