Maggie Mae Harris Reynolds Nicholson, 101, loving mother, grandmother, friend and Counselor went home to be with her Lord on June 3, 2002. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was born May 3, 1901 in Crisp, N.C. into a family of 10 children. Her parents were James Robert and Martha Jane Abrams Harris. She is survived by two daughters, Marie R. and Tom Ferguson of Taylors and Martha Fay R. and Donnie Arrington of Rowland, N.C. She is predeceased by a son, Charles B. Reynolds Jr. and a daughter, Nellie Eve R. Hyatt Boykin; seven grandchildren, Mark Ferguson (Jerri), Beverly Ferguson, Patsy R. Chitwood (Terry), Vicki R. Carter, Christy R. Ennis (Ray), Alton Hyatt (Barbara) and Donald Arrington; two special step-grandchildren, Ruby R. Carter and Angela R. Henry; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Many step-great grands and great-great grands. "Miss Maggie" played the piano and sang for many silent movies from 1916 to 1919. She loved to paint and sketch God's creation of birds, flowers and the seashore. She has given her family a wonderful legacy and rich heritage of music as well as her talent. She will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered always. Special thanks for the loving concern and care of Pat, Lola and Wanda at Laurel Baye Healthcare. Memorials may be to Parkwood Baptist Church, 2140 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29609. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with interment at Graceland East Memorial Park. The family is at 106 Williams St., Taylors.
