Sister Adelia Goffard, age 88, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Wednesday morning, December 22, 1993, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 24, 1993, at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem in Holy Family Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The former Julia Marie Goffard was born June 25, 1905, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Noah J. and Margaret Goyne Goffard. She entered the convent in 1923 and professed her vows in 1926. Sister Adelia served as a homemaker at St. Joseph, Boyd, Catholic Memorial and St. Joseph, Waukesha; Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc; St. Joseph, Green Bay; Sacred Heart Seminary, Oneida; St. Michael, Whitelaw; Ozanam Home, New Berlin; St. Francis Xavier, Petoskey, Mich.; St. Donitella Convent, Hillside, Ill.; St. Nicholas Convent, Zanesville, Ohio; Marist Seminary, Washington, D.C.; St. Mary Convent and St. Joseph Home, West Point, Neb. Since retiring from active ministry in 1983, she has been residing at Holy Family Convent. She was a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Chairty (sic).
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one sister and three sisters-in-law, Margaret Van Lane, Appleton, Wilhelmina Goffard, Gillette, Luella Goffard, Oconto Falls, Margaret Goffard, Waukesha; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 1993, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel.
