Sister Richarda Gilsdorf, 55, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Friday morning, August 17, 1990 at the Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, August 20, 1990 at the Holy Family Convent Chapel. Her brother, Rev. Richard W. Gilsdorf will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Homilist will be the Rev. Julian C. Resch, O.Praem. Burial will follow at the Holy Family Convent Cemetery.
The former Shirley Gilsdorf was born April 14, 1935 at Green Bay, Wis., daughter of the late Wilbert Gilsdorf and Gladys Fonder Gilsdorf. She entered the convent in 1950 and professed her vows in 1954. Sister earned a BA Degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc and a MA Degree from St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri. Sister Richarda taught in elementary and secondary schools in Manitowoc, Neenah, Antigo, Kiel, New Holstein, Appleton and Waukesha. She also taught at Chicago, Ill., West Covina, Calif., and also taught at Holy Family College, Manitowoc.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, her mother, Mrs. Gladys Gilsdorf and her brother, Rev. Richard W. Gilsdorf, both of Casco, Wis. Friends may call at the Holy Family Convent from 4-8 pm Sunday. A prayer service will be held Sunday evening at 7 pm in the Holy Family Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is in charge of arrangements.
