Daisy V. Galloway, known to all as "Aunt Daisy", died at Heritage Manor, Bloomington, Illinois Friday, Sept. 24, 1965, at the age of 87 years after an illness of several years.
She was born near Stockland, Pike county, Illinois on September 11, 1878, the daughter of J. N. and Mary McElfresh LaDow. Her entire life was spent in the vicinity of her birth, until 1959 when she moved to Bloomington to be near her children. She confessed her faith in Christ at the age of thirteen under the ministry of Reverend J. W. Madison in the year 1891, uniting with the Methodist church at that time. She was faithful to her family, her friends, and her church.
On April 5, 1899 she was united in marriage to Milo E. Galloway, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Sidney LaDow, and two brothers and two sisters in infancy. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Mary E. Woodworth, and one son, Truman Galloway, both of Bloomington; one sister, Mrs. Dora Dodge, and one brother, Roswell LaDow, both of Pleasant Hill; a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in Ward funeral chapel in Pleasant Hill, on Sunday, September 26, 1965 with the Rev. Dean Benton officiating. Burial was in Crescent Heights Cemetery.
